The Carson City Sheriff's Office has added four new officers to their K9 unit - two new pups and two new handlers.
They say this will help the department support patrol operations, tracking, and drug detection in the area.
Deputies Michael Jerauld and Jaime Carillo went through an intensive training program to become handlers and have officially been assigned to the unit.
Deputy Jerauld has been partnered with K9 Bery, a one-year-old Belgian Malinois.
Deputy Carillo has a new partner in K9 Dakota, a one-and-a-half-year-old Belgian Malinois.
Both K9 officers are skilled in drug detection, tracking and patrol duty.
The sheriff's office says that the new teams will begin patrol duties immediately, in addition to participating in community outreach events, demonstrations and continued training.
