Snow has begun falling over Donner Summit, according to a Facebook post from the California Highway Patrol in Truckee.
CHP gave some advice for driving in the snow, stressing the importance of ensuring tires have good traction and maintaining slower speeds while driving.
They also said people should pack winter survival kits in case they get stranded, including blankets, snacks, and water.
