With Hot August Nights officially underway, the City of Sparks in an online post provided some detailed street closure and cruise information.Â
Sparks says the following road closures will be in place from Sunday, August 4 through Monday, August 12 at 6 a.m.
- Victorian Avenue from Pyramid Highway to Victorian Plaza Circle (west side).
- Victorian Plaza Circle (east) from Avenue of the Oaks to Nugget Avenue.
- Avenue of the Oaks in front of the Galaxy Theater, one block east and one block west.
- Tenth Street from south of Avenue of the Oaks from the alleyway to Victorian Ave.
- Victorian Plaza Circle East at Nugget Avenue will be gated with security, this is the entrance and exit for registered participants for the Show and Shine only.
According to Sparks, Hot August Nights Officials are asking anyone who is participating in or watching the cruises to be aware of the following cruise and street closure information.
Cruising will begin nightly starting on Wednesday, August 7 through Saturday, August 10 from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.Â
- Eastbound and westbound Pyramid Way off-ramps will be closed.
- Pyramid Way will be closed from Prater Way to I-80.
- Pyramid Way on-ramps will be open for northbound traffic from Nugget Ave.
- Eastbound Rock Boulevard on-ramp will be closed to alleviate Pyramid Way's eastbound closure complications.
Vehicles participating in the cruise are being asked to enter the cruise at 21st Street and Victorian Avenue as side streets will be closed to registered cars entering during cruise events.
Event parking is available in the Nugget parking garage, the City of Sparks parking garage next to the Galaxy Theatre, and the bottom floor of the Deco parking garage.
