The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is increasing enforcement through the U.S. 50 Tahoe East Shore Resurfacing Project work zone.
The sheriff’s office is reminding drivers traveling from Lake Tahoe’s south shore at Stateline to Spooner Summit to slow down, follow posted speed limits and obey all traffic control measures.
Deputies will be actively enforcing traffic laws throughout the construction zone.
“Work zones are not a place for impatient or aggressive driving,” Sheriff Dan Coverley said. “The safety of construction workers and drivers depends on motorists slowing down, following the posted speed limit and traffic control measures, and remaining alert while traveling through these areas.”
Drivers are also reminded that Nevada law imposes double penalties for speeding violations in marked road construction or maintenance zones when workers are present.
