Carson City Animal Abuse Investigation

A lot of people reached out this week after seeing a video of a dog being harmed in Carson City, and many wanted to know if he was safe.

According to the Nevada Humane Society in an online post, “We know many in our community have been deeply concerned about the recent video showing a dog being harmed in Carson City. We want to reassure everyone that the dog is now safe and in our care at the Nevada Humane Society. He is receiving medical attention and is being closely monitored by our veterinary team.”

The group said the Carson City Sheriff’s Office is handling an active investigation and added, “This is an active investigation being handled by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, and because of that, we are unable to share additional details at this time.”

The shelter said its staff needs space to focus on the dog’s recovery and the case. “To help our team stay focused on his recovery and the ongoing investigation, we kindly ask that the public refrain from calling the shelter for updates on the dog or the case.”

Anyone with information that may help investigators is asked to contact the Humane Enforcement Office at 775-856-2000 ext. 420. The post ended with, “Thank you for standing with us against cruelty and for always advocating for the animals who need us most.”
