A man from Dayton was arrested today after a report of child abuse was called in by the child's school.
The Lyon County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the school in Dayton this morning.
When deputies arrived, they learned that a student had showed up for school with severe blunt force injuries all over their body. The victim was assessed by medical personnel and brought to the hospital.
During their investigation, officials learned that the victim has been beaten the night before by a parent.
Deputies then found and arrested the father of the child, 40-year old Saul Gallegos-Duron.
Nevada Child and Family Services stepped in to assist and make sure the children in the home were relocated to a safe location.
Gallegos-Duron has a bail set of $75,000.
