Spring cleaning is on the minds of a lot of folks around this time of year; the Douglas County Sheriff's Office wants to help you get rid of old medication.
The latest Prescription Drug Take Back is scheduled for Saturday, April 26 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at multiple locations in the area.
The Take Back is open to the public and is accepting prescriptions, over the counter medications, liquids and pet medications. Organizers ask that the medications are left in their original containers, with personal info crossed out.
Needles will not be accepted.
To safely dispose of your unwanted, unused or expired medications, drop them off at one of the following locations during the event:
- Douglas County Sheriff's Office - 1038 Buckeye Road, Minden
- Round Hill Safeway - 212 Elks Point Rd, Zephyr Cove
- Walmart - 1511 Grant Ave, Gardnerville
- Walmart - 3200 Market Street, Carson City
