A driver was arrested Wednesday night after deputies stopped a car that sped through a red light at a Reno intersection.
According to the Washoe County Sheriff's Office in an online post, deputies saw a driver speed through a red light at the intersection of E. 6th Street and University Way.
After conducting a traffic stop and an on-scene investigation, deputies arrested 23-year-old Saiyuri Flores on charges of driving under the influence and failure to obey a traffic control device.
In the post, the Sheriff’s Office said, "Choosing to drive while impaired is dangerous. Choosing to speed through a red light while impaired puts everyone around you in immediate danger."
The Washoe County Sheriff's Office said it will continue proactive DUI enforcement efforts to help prevent serious crashes and keep the community safe.
