Humboldt County deputies rescued a driver who rolled a Toyota Tacoma off a road above Water Canyon, sending the truck 300 yards down a steep canyon in the Sonoma Mountain Range.
Due to the steep terrain, emergency crews used an HGH EMS Air One helicopter to access the crash site.
Teams then pulled the driver from the pickup and loaded him into the aircraft. He was airlifted to the hospital where he is currently being treated and is expected to recover from severe injuries.
Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies, members of the Tri-County Special Response Team (SWAT), and Humboldt General Hospital EMS all participated in the rescue effort.
