Elko Police are investigating a threat made to Adobe Middle School.
It happened just before 3 p.m. Wednesday when an unknown caller claimed someone was going to come to the school with a gun.
The school followed proper procedures and went into lockdown.
The school was searched by officers to ensure there was no threat inside. Once the scene was secured, the lockdown was lifted.
Officers remained on scene while students were released.
The incident remains under investigation.
