One person is dead after a crash on SR-342 south of Gold Hill in Storey County Thursday morning.
Nevada State Police troopers say the crash happened around 6:45 a.m. on SR-342 near mile marker zero.
NSP says a preliminary investigation shows a Kia Sorento was heading north on State Route 342 while a Ford F450, Nevada Department of Transportation truck, was heading south when the Kia, for unknown reasons, went into the south lane, where they eventually crashed into each other.
Troopers say the driver of the Kia Sorento was pronounced dead on the scene by medics, and the driver of the Ford F450 NDOT truck remained on the scene of the crash and was cooperating with the investigation.
This crash is still under investigation by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit.
