Homeless pets in the Reno area have a better chance of finding new families this weekend during a fee-waived adoption event hosted by Lithia Reno Subaru and the SPCA of Northern Nevada.
The adoption event will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lithia Reno Subaru, located at 2270 Kietzke Lane.
All adoption fees will be covered by the dealership, allowing people to bring home a new pet at no cost.
The event is part of the national “Subaru Loves Pets” campaign, which runs throughout October and supports shelters and rescues across the country in finding homes for animals in need.
Community partnerships like this one help address overcrowding at shelters and give animals a second chance.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet available dogs and cats on-site and complete adoptions the same day.
Lithia Reno Subaru has long supported the SPCA of Northern Nevada through donations and adoption drives. This latest effort comes during a time when shelters are seeing a rise in surrendered and stray animals.
The SPCA of Northern Nevada encourages families to attend and meet their next potential pet while taking advantage of the fee-waived adoptions.
