Fire crews say they responded to many fires near Winnemucca over the holiday weekend - including ones that were started by fireworks.Â
The (pictured) fire started near Museum Lane and Welch Drive - the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and Winnemucca Police Department both helped to put out the fire.Â
"We’re grateful for the quick response by all agencies involved, but this serves as a serious reminder—fire danger remains extremely high. Just one spark can put homes, lives, and our community at risk," the sheriff's office posted on Facebook.Â
Two larger fires, both sparked by lightning, also currently also burning near Winnemucca.Â
Both fires were started by lightning.Â
