Reno Fire Department and Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue crews are mopping up a brush fire that burned in south Reno Saturday night.

According to fire officials, reports came in just after 11:00 p.m. that a brush fire had started after fireworks were seen in the area just south of Alexander Lake Road, near the intersection of Veterans Parkway and South Meadows Parkway.

Seven engines arrived on scene—including three brush engines—and found around two acres of brush on fire.

The fire grew to around four acres in size before firefighters were able to get it under control.

Officials say that no structures were threatened, and that fireworks were found to be the cause of the fire.
