Children and families across northern Nevada have a new opportunity this summer to help feed neighbors while putting a fresh spin on a classic seasonal tradition.
The Food Bank of Northern Nevada is launching Squeeze Out Hunger, a youth fundraising campaign running from July 7 through August 2.
The campaign encourages children, families, and youth to raise money by hosting lemonade stands at their homes, organizing virtual fundraisers, or partnering with local businesses.
The Food Bank provides materials to help participants get started, including online giving QR codes, signs, social media templates, and information about hunger in the community.
The campaign is designed to give children a hands-on opportunity to give back while building confidence, communication skills, and stronger connections to their community as they share why they chose to participate.
Everyone who takes part will be entered into a drawing for four all-access passes to Coconut Bowl at Wild Island, donated by Wild Island.
The campaign was inspired by the true story of a child who spent many hours volunteering, operated a successful lemonade stand, and continues giving back to the community.
Children and families can sign up anytime through August 2 at fbnn.org.
