Two Washoe County School District students have been arrested for making violent threats over the last week.

According to a release from the WCSD the incidents were separate and unrelated.

In the first case, 14-year-old student shared photos of weapons and threatened to carry out a school shooting or other violence.

In the second case, a 15-year-old student posted threats on the social media platform TikTok, threatening to carry out school shootings or other violence.

Neither of the threats were carried out, and no one was harmed.

Both students were arrested by WCSD School Police and charged with a single felony count each of making threats or conveying false information concerning acts of terrorism.

Police say there are no ongoing threats to schools.

Four students have been arrested by WCSD School Police since the beginning of the school year on felony charges related to social media or digital threats.

Officers remind parents to closely monitor their students’ social media activity and contact authorities if they have questions or concerns.
