Honor Flight Nevada says it is concerned, but not worried, about FAA-mandated flight cancellations ahead of its upcoming trip to Washington, D.C., to honor area veterans at their memorials in the nation's capital.
In a release, the organization said they have received a number of calls and emails from veterans and their families concerned about possible cancellations or travel disruptions.
"We have full confidence that our airline partners will not cancel a flight carrying 60 veterans and their guardians—this trip is far too important," said Honor Flight Nevada in its release. "For many of these heroes, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit the memorials built in their honor."
The upcoming trip starts with the 250th birthday of the United States Marine Corps and continues through Veterans Day before culminating with Nevada veterans being honored in Washington, D.C.
"It’s a powerful reminder of service, sacrifice, and the enduring gratitude of our community," said the release.
