After ten days, Hot August nights is officially over.

To wrap things up, competitors lined up their cars for the last time at The Reno-Sparks Convention Center.

For one competitor, Hot August Nights is his favorite event, and he spends all year preparing for it.

"I hit all of the main shows, all the casinos and I compete. It is very humbling with 6,000 cars that are entered into this event, that I am able to be recognized with some of the awards," said Tim Chan.

For other competitors, this event has been very beneficial because of the exposure they are getting.

"It helps my business, it helps promote my business that we can do a good job and build quality cars, and it helps get our name out there so people can see us and see what we can do," said Holden Jung, owner of HJ Customs.

People competing in today's grand finale were apart of multiple classes, including Stock, Custom, Truck, and for the first time ever, a member choice category which is decided by volunteers for Hot August Nights.

After these awards, a Grand Champion of the entire event is selected.

The winner of the event was a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible owned by Charlie and Alanna B from Loomis, California.

After another successful year of Hot August Nights, organizers say they can't wait to host the event all over again for all the locals and visitors.

"Reno-Sparks area is our home, we started here, and we will never leave, we love it, and I think the people who come here love it and they see how great Northern Nevada is," said Deny Dotson, executive director of Hot August Nights
