Hunter Rand Ward 2 Sparks CC

Hunter Rand, a new contender for the Ward 2 seat on the Sparks City Council, will be formally launching his campaign at an event this month.

According to a release from the Rand campaign, the community is invited to the campaign launch event, which will take place on July 15 at Macho Tequila's on Greenbrae Drive.

The event, which starts at 6:30 p.m., offers an opportunity to meet Rand and hear his vision for Sparks and Ward 2. All are welcome to attend, and food and soft drinks will be served.

Hunter Rand will speak at 7:00 p.m.

"I’m running for city council because I believe Sparks needs leadership that listens, acts with compassion, and brings people together to solve real problems,” says Rand.

The current Ward 2 seat in the Sparks City Council is held by Dian VanderWell, who has held the seat since 2020. She was appointed to the position when former Ward 2 councilmember Ed Lawson took over as Mayor after the death of former Sparks Mayor Ron Smith.

If you'd like to attend, guests are asked to RSVP by Sunday, July 13 at Hunter Rand's campaign website.
