Vitalant is encouraging people across Northern Nevada to donate blood during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
The nonprofit says donors of all blood types are needed, especially those with type O blood.
People who donate between Oct. 1 and Oct. 31 will also be automatically entered for a chance to win one of two $10,000 gift cards.
Appointments can be made through Vitalant's website, the Vitalant blood donor app or by calling 877-258-4825.
Several blood drives are scheduled across Northern Nevada throughout October, including events in Reno, Carson City, Elko, Yerington, Dayton, Battle Mountain, Incline Village and Stateline.
