The following closures and schedule changes are in place for Labor Day:
City of Reno
City administrative offices will be closed Monday, September 7.
- All City of Reno recreation facilities and pools will also be closed, except Idlewild Pool.
- Idlewild Pool will offer:
- Lap swim: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Open swim: 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Regular city operations are scheduled to resume Tuesday, September 8.
- For emergencies requiring police, fire or medical assistance, call 911.
- For non-emergency assistance from Reno Police Department dispatch, call (775)334-COPS (2677).
- Online police reports can be submitted through the Reno Police Department's “File a Report” option.
City of Sparks
The following locations will be closed Monday, September 7:
- Sparks City Hall, 431 Prater Way
- Sparks Parks and Recreation, 98 Richards Way
- Alf Sorensen Community Center, 1400 Baring Blvd.
- Larry D. Johnson Community Center, 1200 12th Street
- Sparks Municipal Court, 450 C St.
- Sparks Police Department front desk, 1701 E. Prater Way
- Regular office hours will resume Tuesday, September 8.
U.S. Postal Service
All Post Office locations will be closed Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.
- Regular mail delivery and retail services will resume Tuesday, September 8.
- Customers can still use USPS online services, including:
- Ordering stamps and free USPS boxes
- Hold Mail
- Change of Address
- PO Box rental or renewal
- Click-N-Ship for prepaid shipping labels
- Self-service kiosks are available at select locations, and many operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- Depending on the location, kiosks may allow customers to:
- Print postage
- Purchase stamps
- Weigh and mail packages
- Access package tracking
- Some modernized locations may also offer Rapid Dropoff Stations, QR-code shipping-label printing and USPS Smart Lockers.
Washoe County
Most Washoe County offices will be closed Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. The following offices will be closed:
- Administrative offices at the Washoe County Complex – 1001 E. Ninth Street, Reno
- All Washoe County Library locations. Book drops and online services will remain available. Access library hours and online services at www.washoecountylibrary.us
- Northern Nevada Public Health – All clinical, environmental health, birth & death record, and WIC services
- Regional Animal Services Shelter Operations and Office (Field operations will continue as normal; pet redemptions available 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
- Reno Justice Court, Sparks Justice Court, Incline Village Justice Court, and Wadsworth Justice Court
- The Second Judicial District Court
- The Washoe County District Attorney’s Office
- The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office – All administrative offices will be unavailable. Visiting and the cashier remain open. For emergency assistance, call 911 or the non-emergency line at 775-785-WCSO (9276)
- Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue Headquarters/Fire Prevention and Administrative Offices – 3663 Barron Way
- Washoe County Human Services Agency and all meal distribution locations
- The following county office will be open:
- The Office of the County Clerk at the Washoe County Complex will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for fictitious firm names, notary bond filings, and marriage licenses. Passport services will not be available.
Other Regional Agencies and Services
Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County
RTC administrative and customer service offices will be closed on Monday, September 7.
Bus service will run on a Saturday-level schedule, and the RTC Regional Connector will not run. Riders can plan trips at rtcwashoe.com or through the Transit Schedule and the App.
Washoe County (Reno/Sparks) Schedule Details RTC RIDE Buses:
- Running on a Saturday-level schedule.
- RTC Regional Connector: Not running on Labor Day.
- Customer Service: You can call RTC Customer Service at (775)348-RIDE for route questions.
