A man has been arrested on multiple gun and drug charges after regional law enforcement was anonymously tipped off to their alleged criminal behavior.
Early this year, the Regional Narcotics Unit got a tip about a person suspected of distributing drugs and unlawfully possessing guns in the Reno-Sparks area.
An investigation led to a search warrant being issued for two motel rooms on South Virginia Street, according to a release from the Reno Police Department.
The warrant was carried out with help from the Regional Crime Suppression Unit, Reno Police Department Patrol Division, and Washoe County K9 units, and resulted in the arrest of 29-year-old Javonn Perkins.
In their search, investigators seized seven guns, including two without serial numbers.
They also took a fully automatic handgun equipped with a conversion device, and one gun reported stolen from the Sparks Police Department.
Detectives also recovered a duffel bag containing extended magazines and ammunition.
Nearly $12,000 was also seized, as well as 128.22 grams of fentanyl and 1,765.37 grams of methamphetamine.
The fentanyl recovered was estimated to be enough for around 64,110 potentially lethal doses, the release said.
Perkins was booked into the Washoe County Jail on multiple charges, including firearm-related offenses, drug trafficking, possession with intent to sell, and conspiracy.
