The Reno Police Department has reported that a man is in custody tonight for open murder.
Just before 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, Reno Police were called to Harvard Way just off of Vassar Ave for a report of a suspicious circumstance.
Upon arriving at the house, police met with the suspect, 30-year old Filipe Montoya.
During the conversation with Montoya, officers found a 38-year old woman dead in the house.
The investigation was turned over to the Robbery/Homicide unit. They believe there are no other persons of interest in this case, and that there is no threat to the public.
The identity of the woman who died will be released as soon as the proper notifications have been made.
