The Washoe County Sheriff's Office has shared details about a man who had temporarily eluded police after an attempted stop last month.

On December 16, 2024, the Washoe County Sheriff's Office fielded a call about a domestic dispute in Sun Valley. Initial investigation led deputies to 9th and E Street in Sparks, where they found a car belonging to the suspect, 40-year old Anthony Selleck.

Later, deputies attempt to stop a nearby car identified as belonging to Selleck. He refused to stop, swerving onto a pedestrian walkway, destroying landscaping and almost hitting parked cars. At the time, deputies stopped the pursuit for safety reasons.

Additional information was confirmed; Selleck was driving the vehicle at the time and the victim was a passenger.

That afternoon, officials learned that Selleck was in Carson City. Washoe County detectives and the Carson City Sheriff's Office found Selleck in the Galaxy Theatre parking lot.

Once again, he attempted to flee but was taken into custody by Carson City deputies. The victim was found nearby and safely transported away from the scene.

Selleck is currently being held in the Washoe County Detention Facility, and is booked on the following charges:

  • Domestic battery by strangulation
  • Domestic battery with a deadly weapons
  • Kidnapping (first degree) resulting in substantial bodily harm
  • Assault with a deadly weapon
  • Preventing or dissuading a victim or witness from reporting a crime
  • Failure to obey a traffic control device
  • Evading/eluding a peace officer endangering persons or property
  • Reckless driving
