A man suffered reported serious injuries after getting out of a moving car in Sparks early Monday morning.

The Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) continue to investigate where they initially responded to a crash that involved a pedestrian, near Wedekind Road and McCarran Blvd. just after 12:15 a.m.

A subsequent investigation shows that a car was traveling approximately 50 miles per hour on McCarran Boulevard near Wedekind Road, and the passenger had got out of the vehicle for an unknown reason.

According to the NHP, the male passenger was sent to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The NHP says the investigation is still ongoing.
