McQueen High School has resumed normal operations after an earlier reported threat.

The following message was sent to parents in a ConnectEd call:

Dear McQueen High School Families-

This is Principal Freeman Holbrook, and I want to share important information with you.

WCSD School Police have investigated a possible threat regarding our school and determined the threat was not credible. Classes will be in session today as scheduled. We will have extra police presence at the school to ensure the safety of our students and staff.

McQueen High School in Washoe County is under a secured campus while police investigate a potential threat on Thursday.

The Washoe County School District said on its website that school police were handling the situation and no further details were available.

The district first reported the secured campus at 11:58 a.m., noting that school police were investigating. An update at 12:28 p.m. confirmed that McQueen High remains in a secured campus.

School officials and police have not released additional information about the nature of the threat or whether any students or staff were directly involved.
