The Elko County Sheriff’s Office has announced a memorial service for Marion Hertha Alexander, once known as Shafter Jane Doe, who died in November of 1993.
“Her identification brings long-awaited recognition and dignity to her life. She is no longer unknown, but honored by name, and we would like to remember her with the respect and compassion she deserves,” said the ECSO in a post on Facebook.
A memorial service will be held on July 18 at 10 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home and Memorial Garden on Fairgrounds Road in Elko.
The Sheriff’s Office extended its condolences to Alexander’s family and all who knew and loved her in its post.
