On Wednesday just before 6 p.m., the Lyon County Sheriff's Office responded to a home on Tonopah Street in Silver Springs on reports of a missing person.

When they arrived, they discovered that 67-year-old Royce Wayne Smith walked away from his home following an argument with a family member.

Smith may have dementia according to a release from the Sheriff's Office. He also has multiple additional health issues.

He was last seen wearing a black windbreaker, black pants, and a black t-shirt with the words "Bynum Transport" in red lettering.

Smith needs his medications, which he left at his home, the Sheriff's Office said.

It is believed that Smith might be trying to get to North Carolina where he has friends and family.
