The final ski days are coming to a close at Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe. This weekend marks the end of the season; so get out and enjoy the fresh powder before the slopes shut down.

Weather experts are predicting up to 13 inches of snowfall to cap off the final weekend. Snowboarders and skiers came out to hit the slopes and enjoy fresh mountain powder.

Mt. Rose has what they call "open late" days with extended lift operations running through 6:00 p.m. on Sunday evening. Unfortunately, pond skimming is out of commission this year, as resort officials cancelled the event due to weather conditions.

Closing weekend brought out locals, visitors and season pass holders who wanted to take advantage of the spring snow.

Mike Pierce, Mt. Rose Communications Director, says, "It could be fresh tracks all weekend, which is a phenomenal way to end the year - that's what this is really all about."

The springtime spirit drew in many people who wanted to come out and cap off the final days with a little music, food and drinks at the mountaintop before calling it a wrap on the season.
