The National Alliance on Mental Illness Northern Nevada (NAMI) was connecting people with resources on mental health during an event on Sunday, September 14 at Reed High School in Sparks.
NAMI Northern Nevada says, "this event brought our community together to raise awareness about mental health, reduce stigma and support local mental health resources". Â
It was a one mile walk with a new 5K route, had live entertainment, kid-friendly activities with a strong message of unity, according to NAMI Northern Nevada.
NAMI Northern Nevada says this walk is about opening conversations, sharing experiences and sending a message that mental illness is something to address with compassion and collective action.Â
