The Washoe County School District says a network outage is affecting schools districtwide.

The WCSD posted this message on its website at 9:46 a.m. Wednesday.

"The school district is among those in our community experiencing a network outage that has affected phones and computers at our schools and facilities. During the network outage, classes are in session, and teaching and learning are continuing. Once again, there is a network outage that has affected phones and computers district wide. The provider is working to restore service. Thank you."

The same issue may be also affecting Meta platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and Threads.

Meanwhile, NV Energy reported a power outage around 8:45 a.m. that at one point affected 1,500 customers across Washoe County. Less than 275 customers are currently without power. The outage remains under investigation.

The biggest outage is reported in the 89502 zip code, near Mill Street and McCarran Blvd. where 2 News Nevada is located. Our building sustained two power hits, but we cannot post to affected online platforms Facebook and Instagram.
