Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo launched his bid for re-election at a campaign event in Las Vegas on Monday night.

The event was held at Rancho High School, from which the governor graduated, according to 2 News Nevada's Las Vegas sister station KLAS.

The governor's team drew focus to accomplishments made in his first term, including teacher raises and bipartisan work on accountability.

"I'm here to ask for your help," said Governor Lombardo at the event. "To help finish what we started and by helping change the makeup of the legislature, so we can pass more common-sense reforms and continue blocking the pile of terrible ideas that strike directly at the core of our state. That remains my motivation, keeping Nevada safe, strong, and full of opportunity."

Endorsements for Governor Lombardo's re-election campaign emerged on Monday night from the Nevada Republican Party and the Nevada Senate Republican Caucus.

“Governor Lombardo’s leadership is exactly what Nevada needs — steady, principled, and focused on results,” said Senate Republican Leader Robin Titus. “He’s making our state safer, more affordable, and a place where families can thrive.”

“Governor Lombardo has proven time and again that he is a fighter for Nevada families and conservative values,” said Nevada Republican Party Chairman Michael J. McDonald.

There are currently two Democrats running to face off against Governor Lombardo in next year's general election, Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford and Washoe County Commission Chair Alexis Hill.

Ford responded to Governor Lombardo's re-election campaign launch on X, saying, "As @JoeLombardoNV launches his re-election campaign, unemployment is higher today than when he took office. Housing, prescription drugs, and groceries are all more expensive today than when Lombardo took office."

Reached for comment, Hill said, "I think there's a clear contrast between my vision for Nevada and Governor Joe Lombardo's. Establishment candidates are the perfect choice if you're satisfied with the status quo. I think we need to fix our streets, fund our schools, and support our families. I look forward to debating the issues."
