Nevada Health Centers, maybe best known for their mobile mammography unit the "Mammovan," is launching a new Reno-based mobile medical unit.

This new unit is focused on improving access healthcare in northern Nevada's rural areas.

The Mobile Medical Services unit will be hitting the road, parking in rural towns for a day at a time, and offering a full schedule of primary care appointments.

This week, the unit plans to be in Lockwood, Dayton, Silver Springs, the Greenbrae Center in Sparks, and Fernley.

The mobile unit does accept walk-ins, but appointments are accepted as well - to set one, call (775) 257-7455.

The Mobile Medical Services unit offers the same services offered at a traditional doctor's office, sporting two exam rooms and a small laboratory.
