The Washoe County Sheriff's Department arrested 69-year-old George Alan Connor of Incline Village for multiple charges involving a gun.

On Monday, August 26 at around 2:15 p.m., deputies were dispatched to an unknown disturbance coming from a home on Alder Court in Incline Village. 

Upon arrival, deputies were met by witnesses who reported hearing what they thought were gunshots.

Deputies quickly checked the area and came in contact with an armed man who had barricaded himself and fired shots inside the home. 

Deputies immediately called for the Washoe County Sheriff's SWAT and Hostage Negotiation teams to respond, while they were waiting the man continually pointed the gun at them. 

Deputies say after a brief standoff with man he surrendered and was taken into custody.

Connor was booked into the Washoe County Jail on the following charges: 

  • Four counts of battery with a deadly weapon
  • Three counts of discharging a firearm within a structure
  • Discharging a gun where a person may be endangered
  • Discharging a gun in a public place
  • Owning/possessing a gun by a prohibited person

4:35 P.M. UPDATE

A suspect has been arrested after a brief armed standoff in Incline Village on Monday afternoon.

According to a post from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to Alder Court in Incline Village around 2:15 p.m. on reports from witnesses that they had heard gunfire.

When deputies arrived, they found an armed man who had barricaded themselves in a home.

The Sheriff's Office called SWAT and hostage negotiation teams to the scene. Shortly after the suspect surrendered and was arrested.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

The investigation is still active.
