The Washoe County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) has announced that they will be participating in the latest Joining Forces enforcement campaign, focusing on impaired driving.
The Sparks Police Department has also announced their participation in the campaign.
The campaign is set to highlight the importance of safe driving and help to raise awareness about the dangers of driving under the influence.
In collaboration with other Joining Forces law enforcement partners, WCSO and Sparks Police will increase patrols focused on impaired driving enforcement from June 5 through June 21.
Officials remind drivers that driving under the influence is not only illegal, but dangerous and potentially deadly. They provide the following tips to help keep the roads safe:
Use ride-share services, taxis or public transportation
Designate a sober driver before consuming alcohol or drugs
Report suspected impaired drivers to law enforcement
