North Lyon Fire is hosting a "Stuff the Boot" event in Fernley to raise funds for Brandy, the sister of firefighter Chandler, who has been battling breast cancer since 2021.
The event will take place on July 4 and invites the public to donate to support Brandy’s ongoing medical expenses and treatment-related costs.
Brandy has shown remarkable resilience, undergoing rounds of chemotherapy, multiple surgeries, and continuous treatments.
Despite her strength, the financial and emotional toll of her condition has been overwhelming for the family.
A post on North Lyon Fire's Facebook page called for community support, emphasizing that any donation, no matter the size, will help ease the financial burden on the family.
"Every donation goes directly toward medical expenses, travel for treatments, and giving this family some relief in the middle of the storm," the post stated.
The post further highlighted firefighter Chandler's dedication to the community and encouraged residents to show support for his family during this difficult time.
Donations can be made in person at the event or online through a GoFundMe page.
