One person has died, and two have been injured after a crash in Dayton on Friday afternoon.

It happened just after 2:15 p.m. on U.S. 50 at River Boat Road, according to a release from the Nevada State Police.

Preliminary investigation shows an SUV was heading south on River Boat Road toward U.S. 50, while a pickup truck was heading east on U.S. 50 

The SUV failed to yield the right of way to the pickup truck at a posted stop sign, according to NSP, and the pickup truck and SUV crashed.

The man driving the SUV was pronounced dead on the scene by medical personnel.

The driver of the pickup truck and a passenger in the truck were taken to an area hospital with reportedly non-life-threatening injuries.
