The Nevada State Police (NSP) has released details about a fatal crash that happened early Sunday morning on Interstate 80.

NSP says that the Nevada Highway Patrol received a call at around 2:30 a.m. with a report of a crash on I-80 westbound near Lockwood.

An investigation indicates that the man was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on I-80, when—for an undetermined reason—the rider ran off the road to the left, hitting a guard rail.

The man, the only person on the motorcycle, was ejected off the bike.

The rider was pronounced dead on the scene by medical personnel.
