A motorcycle crash that happened on I-80 west of Elko earlier this month has left the driver of the motorcycle dead.
It happened on August 9, just after 5 p.m., about eight miles west of Elko, according to a release from the Nevada Highway Patrol.
A preliminary investigation has shown that a black Harley-Davidson Motorcycle was heading east on I-80 in the right lane when the driver went off the right side of the roadway into the dirt shoulder and vegetation.
This caused the motorcycle to overturn, ejecting the driver, identified as 50-year-old William Harris of Spring Creek. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing and is being conducted by the Nevada Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit.
