The Forest Service will start opening recreation sites across the Lake Tahoe area next month.
But before they do, recreation sites must be cleaned up - safety hazards such as dead or damaged trees, must be removed. The Forest Service also says they have to wait for warmer temperatures before turning on restroom water systems.
Below are opening dates for various recreation sites - be aware that they could change depending on weather. Some sites and parking areas may open sooner.
