Viewers have been reaching out concerned about a broken fence that no agency seems to be claiming ownership of.
The fence is along McCarran Boulevard, just across the street from the Meadowood Mall, and near the Smithridge Park Townhomes.
We do know the City of Reno owns the alley way and NDOT owns McCarran Boulevard, but it is still unclear who is responsible for fixing this fence. However, both agencies did send crews out today to look into it.
The City of Reno says they found no evidence of any signs that indicate the fence belongs to them. They tell us they did see "no parking in alley" signs that are owned by a private property.
However, Reno Property Management who manages HOA for the Smithridge Park townhomes say the fence is not theirs either.
Maintenance supervisor of the townhomes, Dale LaFrance, says this is not only frustrating but extremely dangerous.
"This is a community here, so there's children," he said. "These are condominiums, we have children, we have pets and sometimes they run free, and I can't imagine a little child chasing a ball out into McCarran as busy as it is. And second of all it's an eyesore, it looks terrible."
LaFrance says the fence has been broken for eight weeks now.
We did catch NDOT crews conducting a survey using survey-grade GPS equipment to stake out ownership boundaries.
The City of Reno and NDOT say they'll keep us updated on the results of the survey to help figure out who owns this fence.
