A person suffered minor injuries after a road rage incident in south Reno led to a shooting on Wednesday morning.

It happened around 6 a.m. in the area of Double R Boulevard and South Meadows Parkway, according to a release from the Reno Police Department.

During the incident, the suspect pulled alongside the victim’s vehicle and fired one round, shattering the window and striking the driver's headrest, causing minor injuries to the victim.

The suspect, identified as 49-year-old Donn Clifton, was found and taken into custody within an hour.

He has been charged with battery with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, and discharging a firearm from a vehicle.

If you find yourself in a road-rage situation, the RPD says to create distance and separate yourself from the aggressive driver. If the aggressive behavior continues or you are being followed, you are advised to call 911.
