Power outages that were affecting thousands in Washoe Valley have been largely resolved, according to NV Energy's outage map.

NV Energy is reporting two power outages in Washoe Valley, collectively affecting more than 3,000 people.
The cause of the outage to the south, near Little Washoe Lake, is listed as a storm in the area, according to the power company's outage map. The cause of the other outage, near Steamboat, is unknown.
Power was estimated to be restored at 5:45 p.m. for one of the outages, but NV Energy is re-estimating that restoration time. There is no estimated time for power to be restored for the other, more northern outage.
Washoe Valley has been dealing with punishing winds throughout the day that have caused crashes and triggered the closure of I-580, in addition to causing at least one of the listed outages.
