A new regional partnership is expanding workforce development efforts across the greater Truckee Tahoe region through the newly rebranded Truckee-North Tahoe Jobs Collective.

The Truckee Chamber of Commerce, North Tahoe Chamber and Tahoe Prosperity Center announced they have formalized the partnership to build on the success of the Truckee Jobs Collective, which launched in 2019.

The expanded initiative is designed to strengthen workforce development by increasing regional collaboration, resources, and outreach for employers, job seekers, and local communities.

“The Truckee Chamber of Commerce launched the Jobs Collective in 2019 to address one of the region’s most significant economic challenges: workforce recruitment and retention,” said Jessica Penman, Truckee Chamber president and CEO. “The platform has served as a centralized resource connecting local employers with job seekers throughout the Truckee-Tahoe region, so partnering with the North Tahoe Chamber and the Tahoe Prosperity Center to expand its ability to serve businesses and our local workforce was a natural next step.”

The expanded Truckee-North Tahoe Jobs Collective will focus on increasing employer participation and job postings across the region while improving workforce data and regional collaboration. Plans also include expanded marketing and outreach, workforce programming, workshops, networking opportunities, hiring events, and two regional job fairs each year, with one in Truckee and one in North Tahoe.

Organizers said the partnership is intended to support the region's long-term economic health by helping businesses attract and retain workers while strengthening workforce development and business sustainability.

“Workforce challenges don't stop at jurisdictional boundaries, and neither should the solutions,” said Derrick Martin, technical director of Tahoe Prosperity Center. “Tahoe Prosperity Center’s role is to connect partners around shared economic priorities, and this collaboration demonstrates what's possible when chambers, employers, educators, workforce organizations, and public agencies work together to strengthen the regional economy. By aligning our efforts, we're creating a more connected workforce ecosystem that benefits businesses, job seekers, and communities across Truckee and North Lake Tahoe.”

The three organizations said they will continue expanding the Jobs Collective with additional programming, employer engagement, outreach, and workforce resources to meet the changing needs of businesses and job seekers.
