The Reno Fire Department and Reno Police Department responded to a report of someone needing rescued from the water near Island Avenue and Rainbow Street in Reno on Monday night.
it happened shortly after 10:30 p.m.
When first responders got on scene they found the person had never actually been in the water.
A spokesperson for the Reno Fire Department told 2 News Nevada that the man was found on an island and that they took a ladder to get down to his level and walked across a channel to get him.
Impairment is suspected in the incident.
