In support of mental health resources for Nevada's first responders, emergency service personnel, and military personnel, the Reno Fire Department donated a 2000 Ford F350 ambulance on Thursday.
The contribution to the Incident Support Program of Nevada Peer Support Network will support the organization's work in supporting the public and first responders during challenging events or circumstances. Â
The ambulance donated was decommissioned from the Reno Fire Department fleet as part of their Apparatus Replacement Plan.
Instead of letting it sit idle or be sold, the donation allowed them to support a local non-profit organization that is vital to the community, according to Reno Fire, which says the donation was approved at the February 12 Reno City Council meeting. Â
