Fire crews responded to a house fire on Beldon Way in Reno around 1:22 p.m. Thursday.
When firefighters arrived, they found the home fully engulfed in flames, with heavy fire in the backyard.
According to Reno Fire Department officials, no one was home at the time of the fire, and no injuries have been reported.
However, two cats are currently missing, and a secondary search is underway to locate them.
The fire caused an electrical line to drop from the house, which has since been addressed by crews from Reno Fire and NV Energy.
No other homes were affected by the blaze.
The fire has been brought under control, but the home is considered a total loss.
A fire investigator is on the scene, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Roads in the area are currently closed for at least the next couple of hours as the investigation continues.
The Red Cross has been called in to assist the displaced homeowner.
This is a developing story. We will continue to update as more information becomes available.
