APRIL 11, 2025:

A Reno man who assaulted multiple Reno police officers and medical personnel was convicted on three counts of battery by prisoner, probationer, or parolee on Friday.

20-year-old Dylan Brown, of Reno, was found guilty following a violent series of events that began in August of last year.

The incident started when officers responded to a call at the home of Brown’s mother, who had served him an eviction notice.

Brown allegedly attempted to strike her before fleeing the scene.

A citizen’s arrest form was signed, and the next day, Brown returned, prompting another call to law enforcement.

When officers attempted to arrest him for the previous incident, Brown became increasingly non-compliant, and officers had to put him in a WRAP device for his own safety.

During the struggle to put him in a patrol car, he spat in the face of one officer while yelling racial slurs, then spat at another, prompting the use of a spit hood with the WRAP device.

Brown later claimed to be experiencing a medical emergency, leading first responders from REMSA and Reno Fire to assist.

Throughout the encounter, he continued spitting and making racially charged comments until he was sedated by medical personnel and transported to the hospital.

While restrained in the hospital in a 4-point restraint, a nurse noticed Brown had managed to free one arm and was attempting to escape.

In the process of security and an RPD officer trying to intervene, he spat on the nurse, the hospital security guard, and the RPD officer.

He was ultimately subdued, re-secured in the WRAP device, and taken to jail.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Hannah Martinez before Judge Egan Walker.

Brown's sentencing is scheduled for May 21.
