Reno Police are investigating a fatal auto versus pedestrian crash that occurred early Thursday morning.

Emergency crews got the call around 12:19 am. and responded to the intersection of W. 1st Street and North Arlington Avenue on the report of a pedestrian that had been hit by a car.

The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash, was transported to the hospital, and passed away shortly after.

Authorities say the car involved in the crash remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, and that speed and impairment do not appear to be factors.

The identity of the pedestrian is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The Reno Police Department M.A.I.T. team is handling the investigation and asks that anyone with information related to the crash please call the Reno Police Department's non-emergency dispatch at (775) 334-2677, or you can text or call Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900 or online at www.secretwitness.com
