The Reno Police Department has provided new details in a northwest Reno homicide that happened Wednesday night, confirming it was the result of a stabbing. They have also arrested a suspect.
RPD confirmed the victim died from a stab wound in a press release Thursday night. They also confirmed a suspect has been taken into custody.
62-year-old Donald Deloney was arrested and booked at the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office for open murder.

A man has died after being battered with a deadly weapon in northeast Reno on Wednesday night.
It happened in the area of Sutro Street and East 6th Street and officers were dispatched around 9:40 p.m. according to a release from the Reno Police Department.
When officers arrived on scene, they found the man and he was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
Detectives with the RPD's Robbery Homicide Unit think a car drove by and witnessed the incident. They are asking anyone who might have seen what happened to contact them.
The victim's identity is being withheld pending the notification of their next of kin.
